College Football Tailgating Decor and Snacks

by Lynn Lilly, Sep 01 2015

I can feel Fall in the air which means college football season is right around the corner. Today I stopped by CBS Atlanta Plugged In to share ideas for the perfect tailgate! These easy DIY decor ideas and snack recipes will be a touchdown at your tailgate!

Fall Spice Cocktail (1 cocktail):
  • 1.5 parts J.R. Revelry Bourbon
  • 3/4 cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 5-6 thin slices of fresh ginger
  • Thin apple slice
Add crushed ice, bourbon, apple cider, lemon juice and ginger to the shaker. Shake for 15 seconds. Strain into a glass over ice and add apple slices.
Cream Cheese & Peanut Butter Football: This was a hit last year so we are bringing it back. You can get the recipe from last year's post
Photo Props: Even if you don't have a backdrop, football themed photo props will be hit for instagram photos! Create your own hashtag so you can easily view your guests photos.
Table Decorations: Add team spirit to your table with straw flags, a painted wine bottle with football glued to sticks, turn a coffee can into a utensil and napkin holder, brown paper bags for popcorn, toothpick cut outs for cupcakes and a football banner.
DIY Team Spirit Coasters: Pick up white tiles from Home Depot. Put small rubber stopper dots on the backside of the tile in each corner. Flip the coaster over and paint a coat of Mod Podge on the tile. Add your paper cut outs. Top with 2-3 more coats of Mod Podge and let dry for 30 minutes.
Chocolate Dipped Pringles: Melt chocolate in a double boiler on your stove top. Once the chocolate is melted dip Pringles. Let them harden completely and then add laces with white icing.
Whoever you are cheering for these ideas are sure to score you points with your guests!
