Collecting and making Christmas ornaments is one of my favorite holiday activities. I could tell a million stories fron the ornaments hanging on our Christmas tree. From travels to our first married holiday to our dogs to handmade memories to so many more. Our tree is filled with love and amazing tales told by the ornaments that garnish it. I wanted to share a few of my favorite do it yourself ornamanets that will create a fun crafting night and memoreis for the whole family.
Hot Chocolate Christmas Ball: Give it as a gift or keep this sweet treat. Fill a large clear ball with cocoa, mashmallows, chocolate chips and sprinkle candies.
Monogram & Snowman Balls: Use Q-tips and acrylic paint to create a design on a clear glass or plastic ball.
Birch Ornament: Pick up a slab of birch at the craft store, drill a whole for your string, paint a background and add a pre-cut wooden design.
Ribbon & Gift Tag Ornaments:
Ribbon Ornaments: Feed holiday ribbon into a clear glass or plastic ornament ball. These are great ornaments to use as fillers for your tree.
Gift Tag Ornaments: I covered cardboard gift tags with scrapbook paper using Mod Podge.
Wedding Coaster Ornament: We had custom cardboard coasters made for our wedding. I have been holding on to a few extras while trying to figure out a cool way to perserve them. I turned one into a ornament by punching a hole in the corner and adding ribbon.
Beer Pong Ornament & Monogram Ornament:
Beer Pong Ornament: This ornament is great for a gag gift or the partier in your life. I used a mini solo cup, attached twine with hot glue, filled the cup with plastic and put a ping pong ball on the top.
Monogram Ornament: Cover a wooden letter with scrapbook paper using Mod Podge. I wrapped twine around the letter to add texture and used twine to create a hanging string.
Easy Onaments for Kids:
Yarn Shower Hook: Cover a shower curtain hook with yarn. Secure the ends with hot glue.
Name Card Ornament: Attach painted wooden letters to a popsicle stick with glue. Glue string on either end to create a hanger.
Happy Holiday Crafting!
