Our team is hot off one of my favorite January traditions! For the past three years, I have attended Creativation, the United States largest showcase of craft and do it yourself products and trends for the upcoming year! This year our whole team went and we had a blast!
I had so fun and I wanted to share the fun with you by giving away a gift pack of my favorite products I picked up at the show! Hop over to our facebook page to win!
Check out my segment on NBC's Atlanta & Company recapping Creativation and my top product picks from the show!
I'm excited to share with you the trends our team think are going to be hot in 2018 and a few projects we already made from with our swag from the show!
Trends:
- Glitter (sorry glitter haters, it really was popping up in every medium)
- Wood Burning
- Innovative Paper Crafts (think motion cards)
- Fashion Crafting
- Paper Crafting (think paper flowers everywhere)
A few photos we snapped along the way!
My Favorite Brands from the Show to Check Out in 2018
- Nuno Deco, Activa, Beacon, Paper House Productions, Krylon Spray Paint, Marabu, Walnut Hollow, Eclectic (E6000 & Unicorn Spit), DSWV (obsessed with their letterboards), Fablossom, Kapro Tools, Plaid Crafts, Brother, Fiskars, Deflecto, Wagner, Love + Lemon, Fair Isle Yar, Live a Little, Uchi Designs, Tonic Studios, Fabric Editions, Hampton Art
I was excited to share these products and projects on my first segment after Maternity leave on NBC's Atlanta & Company!
Nuno Deco, Iron-on Fabric Tape
This might be one of my favorite finds from the show. Nuno Deco, is currently sold in Japan and will hopefully be available at US retailers soon. I had a fantastic time meeting two of the brand reps and trying the technique!
The tape is fabric with a sticky backing so you can use it on paper/cardboard and position it on fabric and simply iron-on for 25-30 seconds on medium heat. I took some rolls home and made this personalized onesie for Lily! I am so OBSESSED!!!!
Wood Burning, with Walnut Hollow
Wood burning is a growing trend and is becoming more mainstream for home decoration. Walnut Hollow has been the authority in wood burning and wood surfaces for years and I had the opportunity to host a live broadcast from their booth and get beginner tips for wood burning! I'm a beginner but I am slowly getting better. Check out the project below I worked on this week for Atlant & Company.
Paper crafts continue to be a big trend, but I was in awe when I discovered animated card kits! These were so cool and innovative that I had to share them with you! Each kit includes a stamp, motion paper and everything you need create beautiful cards!
Tonic Studios Nuvo Glitter Paste
Glitter is one of the trends we saw over and over again at Creativation. I love glitter but I know plenty of glitters haters. I wanted to showcase Nuvo Glitter Paste because you can use it to give a variety of surfaces a glitter effect and all the glitter is contained in the paste! You will not be finding glitter for weeks with this cool product! I used it to embellish these Valentine's Day treat bags!
I also love Nuvo's Crystal Drops (used around the hearts above) for adding simple embellishments. I took a baby themed piece of decorative paper, added embellishments with the Crystal Drops and put in a frame to create artwork for Lily's nursery!
Every year I am wowed by new and innovative products and this year Marabu's Candle Liners were on the top of my list for the coolest new product! Candle Liners allow you to embellish candles in countless ways! The creative possibilities are endless. Hope and I created a few simple pieces but are excited to try out more intricate designs in the coming weeks!
If you love these new products please share this post with your friends on social media! Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate you :)
