A little spooky, a smidge of ghoul, and a lot of fun are in store for Halloween this year! This year I am planning to celebrate the holidays including Halloween bigger than ever! We can also use some fun and excitement, especially for the little ones! My daughter loves colorful Halloween decorations and gets so excited to help put it up! This year I made three coordinating Halloween Hoops that look great together or as a fun door or wall ornament. I brought these projects to life with Tulip Slick Dimensional Fabric Paint aka puffy paint! I love the Slick for smooth and clean details like script font and tracing! Check out the video and tutorials below to see how I created these spooky fun projects!
I can't wait to see which one is your favorite!
Halloween Hoop 1: Double Double Toil and Trouble
Materials:
- Tulip Slick Dimensional Fabric Paint in Bright Teal
- Embroidery Hoop
- Aleene's Fabric Fusion
- Black and White Striped Fabric (or fabric of your choice)
- Double Double Toil and Trouble Template
- Orange Pom Pom Trim
- Pencil
- Scissors
Directions:
- Measure and cut fabric so it is slightly larger than the hoop.
- Glue the pom-pom trim across the fabric following the lines of the fabric.
- Open the embroidery hoop and place the fabric between the two hoops. Place the top hop on and secure. Pull the fabric taught. Trim the fabric around the outside of the hoop and glue the excess around the back of the hoop.
- Print the Double Double Toil and Trouble Template. Flip it over and rub the pencil all over the back of the paper making sure to cover the back of the letters.
- Flip the paper over with the printed text facing up. Place it on the fabric where you would like the message to appear. Trace the text with the pencil applying slight pressure so the pencil on the back transfers to the fabric.
- Once done tracing remove the paper and you will see a light transfer of the words.
- Use the Tulip Slick Bright Teal to trace the outline and get the perfect script font.
- If you have a second color of the Tulip Slick add some accents.
- Let the paint completely dry before displaying it.

- Cut a pumpkin face out of the black felt and glue the face to the fabric.
- Outline the eyes, nose, and mouth with the Tulip Slick in Orange.
- Add eyes with the Tulip Slick Bright Teal.
