3 Popsicle Stick Kids Crafts

by Lynn Lilly, Jul 15 2022

Hi!!! I hope you are still surviving and are healthy and well! Many of you are still working from home with your kiddos and I know it is tough to keep them occupied. I am here to help!  I am continuing my partnership with Crayola to help inspire you with at home crafts during my weekly live broadcasts on their Facebook page. Today is all about popsicle sticks! Break out the popsicles or grab a box of craft sticks and get ready for some easy crafts to keep the kiddos entertained!

Materials:

  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Crayola Washable Paint
  • Crayola Construction Paper/Bright Pop Paper Pad
  • Crayola Glue
  • Mason Jars

Directions:

  1. Fill a small pot with water. Place popsicle sticks in the water and bring to a boil. Boil for 30 minutes. Boil two times as many popsicle sticks as you want bracelets to account for breakage. ***Adult Step***
  2. Turn off the burner and let the popsicle sticks sit in the water for 20 more minutes.
  3. Pull the sticks out of the water one by one with a tong. They should be cool enough to touch. ***Adult Step***
  4. Carefully bend the sticks starting at the end and working your way toward the center. Fit the bent popsicle stick inside the top rim of the mason jar. Let it dry completely before removing it.
  5. Once dry let the kiddos go to work painting and decorating the bracelet.

If the bracelet is a little big, you can glue ribbon to end to tie it smaller.
