Kid's Party Hats

When the kids are out of school this summer the only thing keeping them connected with their friends is a get together. Whether you are throwing a birthday party or a just-because party for your kid and their friends, simply add creativity and festivity by making some DIY kid's party hats. 

You can make these party hats before the party or have a hat making station as the kids arrive. This will sure keep them busy and entertained. These three party hat ideas are easy and fun to make. The kids will love wearing it. 

Cone Party Hat

Supplies:One sheet of decorative scrapbook paper (12x12), glue stick, scissors, 12 inch elastic string

Instructions:

1. Cut the paper in half to a 6X12 inch sheet. Curl the paper into a cone leaving a small opening at the top. Glue the ends of the paper in place. 

2. Cut around the bottom of the cone to even the round cone shape.

3. Cut the remaining paper into 6 long and thin strips (1/2 X 12 inches) then cut it in half. Run the scissors along the strips of paper to curl it. Glue the ends of each curly strips together and tuck the gathered ends into the opening of the cone. 

4. Punch a hole on each side of the cone and tie each ends with the elastic string. Tighten the string as needed.

Crown Party Hat

Supplies: 6X12 inches of decorative scrapbook paper, glue stick, scissors, 12 inch elastic string

Instructions:

1. Cut small even triangles across one side of the paper. Dispose the triangles.

2. Roll the paper and glue the ends together to make a crown.

3. Punch holes on each sides of the crown. 

4. Tie the elastic strings around each hole. Tighten the string as needed.

Headdress Party Hat

Supplies: 6X12 inches of decorative scrapbook paper, glue stick, scissors, 12 inch elastic string

Instructions:

1.Cut the paper in half to 3X12 each.

2. On one sheet, cut three diamonds. 

3. Punch a hole on each side of the second strip of paper. 

4. Glue the diamonds side by side to the front of the second 3x12 inch paper. 

5. Tie the elastic string to each hole. Tighten the string as needed.

Now you have three fun and easy to make party hats for your kid's next party this summer! Remember, the decorative the scrapbook paper the more festive the party will be.
