It is officially Winter but in Atlanta it feels more like Summer with temperatures soaring into the mid 70's. One of the things I love about J.R. Revelry Bourbon is that it is perfect for creating Summer, Spring, Fall and Winter cocktails. I am digging the Thympe Maple Bourbon Sipper I whipped up today. It works over ice for the hot winter days and is also perfect served neat for the cooler brisk days.
Ingredients to make Simple Syrup:
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- Splash of Vanilla Extra
- Leaves from 2 sprigs of thyme
Directions to make the syrup: Put all ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil and reduce to low and simmer for 3 minutes. Strain to remove all the thyme leaves.
Directions to make cocktails: Place 1.5 ounces of J.R. Revelry Bourbon and 1 ounce simple syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake for 15 seconds and strain into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon slice and thyme.
