I am a big fan of decorating and cooking with cranberries during the holidays. The one thing I dislike about Thanksgiving is canned cranberry sauce. The canned gelatin junk grosses me out. I introduced this homemade and healthier cranberry sauce to my family and they absolutely loved it!
- 12 ounce bag of fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 cup of water
- Orange zest from 1 orange
- Add sugar to sweeten to your liking
- Place all ingredients in medium sauce pan. Turn stove top to medium heat and let ingredients simmer for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Once the mixture is mostly liquid turn the burner to low and simmer for 10 more minutes, stirring frequently.
- Remove cinnamon stick before serving
- Enjoy with your holiday feast
