Valentine's Day is often a last-minute dash to create the perfect favor or cute shirt for the classroom party. I am guilty of being a last-minute mama but that is why I love my Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine! My daughter Lily needed a cute shirt to wear to music class for their Valentine's Day Party so I easily whipped one up in under 30 minutes with the help of Cricut Design Space and my Cricut.com Explore Air 2. She loves accessories so I quickly made a wand with the extra iron-on vinyl! Check out the video below and the step by step instructions!
Materials for the Valentine's Day Conversation Heart Shirt:
- Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine or Cricut Maker
- Cricut EasyPress 2
- Cricut EasyPress Mat
- Cricut Everyday Iron-On Vinyl
- 2T White T-shirt
- Scissor
- Cricut Wedding Tool
Directions:
1. Open up the project in Cricut Design Space. By now you should have downloaded the Cricut Design Space App. If not DO IT!!!
2. Adjust the size of the hearts based on the size of your shirt. The hearts are currently sized to work with a 2T shirt. You can also adjust the colors of the hearts based on the colors of iron-con vinyl you select.
3. When you are ready cut them on the Cricut Explore Air 2 and weed.
4. Place the shirt on the EasyPress Mat. Refer to the Cricut EasyPress Heat Guide for the correct temperate and time settings based on the material of your shirt. To Layer the vinyl you will need to press each layer separately. Make sure to cover any exposed vinyl with extra backing to avoid melting.

Did you know you can use iron-on vinyl on wood? Yup! I had some wood hearts from the craft store that I had painted with acrylic paint that were easy to jazz up. When working with wood just make sure to check the Cricut EasyPress Heat Guide.
Check out the project page in Cricut Design Space for the Conversation Heart Cut Outs. They are sized for a 2T shirt. You might need to adjust based on the size of your shirt.
