Inspiration can be found anywhere and as a creator, it’s really fun to pull from different sources to make something beautiful. Pantone recently released their color of the year, Greenery and I’m in love! I was immediately inspired by this gorgeous, fresh color to make something special for my office!
What You’ll Need:
- Wooden Plaque
- FolkArt Multi-Surface in Lime Green, Wicker White and Metallic Silver
- Small and Large Foam Pouncer
- Scissors
- Stencil Tape
- Basecoating Brush
Step 1: Sand your wooden plaque so that it’s smooth to the touch.
Step 2: Basecoat the entire plaque lime green and let dry.
Step 3: Apply metallic silver to your dauber and offload excess paint onto a napkin. Apply the dauber to the plaque making a polka dot pattern over the entire plaque (As seen below). Let dry.
Step 4: Next, cut out the stencil letters with scissors and apply each one as seen in the photo, spelling out, “Share Your Magic.”
Step 5: Once you have all the letters in place, apply the wicker white paint to the entire plaque. Immediately remove the stencils to reveal your custom artwork! Let dry.
Step 6: Hang your new artwork somewhere special so you can be reminded to "Share your Magic!"
I hope you enjoyed learning how to reverse stencil while creating something that will inspire you throughout the new year! Feel free to share with someone who needs a little inspiration today!
