Marabu Creative Art Crayons are the perfect tool to create beautiful watercolor designs! We kicked off our color adventure by using the Art Crayons to design a watercolor paper flower wall display and decided to expand on the design and add party banner! If you missed the watercolor paper flower technique video you can watch it here!
Materials:
- Marabu Creative Art Crayons
- Heavy watercolor paper
- Paper letters
- Colored twine
- Bowl of water
- Triangular sponges
- Hot glue gun
- Exacto knife
- Scissors
Directions:
- Cut banner shaped pendants from the watercolor paper. Cut enough pendants to spell out your message.
- With a xacto knife cut slits about 1/2 inch (from edges) on each side at the top of the banner. These will be to thread the banner string.
- Lightly dampen a sponge with water. Choose two Art Crayon colors. Draw side by side lines onto the wet sponge with the dry crayon.
- Next, starting at the top corner of your banner pendants press downward in a sweeping motion to create a stripe effect on the paper. Continue this pattern on the remainder of the paper.
- Switch to a new sponge everytime you would like to use new colors.
- Repeat on the rest of the pendants and lay flat to dry.
- Cut out letters or use letter stickers
- Hot glue a letter onto each piece of paper
- Thread colored twine through slits in the pendants to create your banner!
Create the perfect party display by adding in the watercolor paper flowers we created a few weeks ago with Art Crayons!
I am excited to share a series of art crayon projects that will be premiering over the next few weeks!
