Four months ago this week my life changed forever in the best possible way. Lily Jean Posner turned our life upside down, inside out and all around. During the last 4 months, I learned to love in a way I never thought I could.
I have learned incredible teamwork skills with my husband which at times is challenging because we both are very independent people. Being a mom is not always sunshine and butterflies... I will be the first to admit that it is hard, tiring, frustrating, demanding and selfless but every tear, sleepless night and blow out diaper is worth it when Lily snuggles in my arms, laughs at my crazy noises and does something new for the first time. One thing that has been with us from the start is Carter's. And just like we have been with Lily from day one, Carters has been with us from day one in the hospital to Lily getting fitted for her hip dysplasia harness to her first trip to the aquarium and even those pouty meltdowns after a missed nap. We have been experiencing so many firsts in the last few weeks that I wanted to share my favorite. Lily met her Uncle her Zach for this first time last weekend. Lily's doesn't just have a regular uncle, she has a special uncle. Zach is Brennan's brother and was born with a form of mental retardation. He lives on his own, works, participates in more activities than I can count, has a girlfriend and even competed in the World Winter Special Olympics in South Korea. He is one of the kindest, most amazing souls I know! We are blessed to have him our lives. He currently lives in Connecticut and is apart of an amazing program there so we don't get to see him as often as we would like but we had been waiting for this special weekend for a very long time.
Zach and Lily had an instant bond. He even made a special t-shirt to show how proud he was to be her uncle.
