I have been so busy lately I can barely keep my head on straight, let along spend hours preparing a complicated meal for my husband and I. I was excited to team up with Barilla and share one of my favorite easy pasta specialities that saves the day during the busy holiday months. For this delicious bolognese I used Barilla Gluten Free Penne and Barilla Gluten Free Tuscan Herb Sauce. I easily found both products at my local BJ's Wholesale Club. Tonight I made this fresh vegetable and bolognese pasta meal and my husband couldn't get enough (literally licking the bowl). The pasta was the same texture and flavor as normal pasta. My husband couldn't believe it was gluten free. Below I detailed the simple recipe ingredients and instructions below.
Ingredients (2-3 servings):
- 1 box of Barilla Gluten Free Penne
- 1 Jar of Barilla Tuscan Herb Pasta Sauce (Gluten Free)
- 2 Cups of Mushrooms
- 1 Green Pepper Chopped
- 1 Red Pepper Chopped
- 1 lb of Lean Ground Beef
- 1 Glove of Garlic Chopped
- Parmesan Cheese (Gluten Free)
- Saute vegetables and garlic until vegetables are tender. Add sauce to the vegetables. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
2.Boil a large pot of water and cook pasta per instructions on the box.
3.Cook ground beef until it is no longer pink. Add beef to the vegetables and sauce.
4.Let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes.
5.When pasta is al dente drain and pour portions into bowls and top with sauce and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
Enjoy this delicious gluten free meal!
