Pencil Stamped Shamrock Towels

by Lynn Lilly, Mar 13 2015

Hand stamped kitchen towels are a fun project for adults or kids. This project can be replicated for any holiday with any stencil.

Materials:
  • Cotton flour sack towels
  • 4 standard number 2 pencils
  • 4 shades of green fabric paint
  • Card stock cut out of a shamrock. Get a free template download here.
  • Double sided tape.
  • Parchment paper or tin foil.
Directions:
  1. Iron your towels on a flat, clean, heat safe surface.
  2. Cover a flat service with parchment paper or tin foil. Lay towel flat.
  3. Secure your stencil to the towel with double sided tape.
  4. Take turns dipping your pencils in the paint and stamping dots around the stencil.
  5. Once complete, let the towel dry for 4-6 hours.
  6. To seal the paint, lay the towel on a heat safe surface, cover with a white sheet and run the iron over the the sheet a few times.
  7. Wash as you normally would wash other towels.
Cheers!
