I am always creating recipes for my husband and to share will all of our Craft Box Girls friends but I never created homemade treats for my pups. I thought Take Your Dog to Work Day was the perfect chance to treat my furry friends to homemade treats. All three of my pups loved each one of these delicious homemade treats! - 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp beef or chicken bouillon granules
- 1/2 cup hot water
- Preheat over to 350 degrees
- Dissolve bouillon in hot water
- Add remaining ingredients
- Kneed dough until it forms a ball
- Roll dough to 1/2 inch thick
- Use a cookie cutter to stamp out cookies
- Place cookies on a lightly greased cookie sheet
- Bake for 30 minutes
- 1 Egg
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 3/4 cup of sodium free beef or chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons of old fashioned oats
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
- Whisk the egg in a mixing bowl
- Add flour, broth and oats to the egg mixture and continue to mix until you have dough
- Roll dough on a floured surface
- Cut out the doughnuts using a cookie cutter
- Take a smaller circular cookie cutter to make the doughnut hole
- Place doughnuts on a greased baking sheet
- Bake donuts for 15 minutes
- Once doughnuts are cooled decorate them with greek yogurt icing and a few sprinkles
- 2 cups gluten free old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 medium carrot, peeled and grated
- 1 ripe banana peeled
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil melted
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees
- In a food processor, pulse the oats until they look consistency
- Combine oats, carrots and parsley in a bowl
- In a separate bowl mash the banana and mix in the egg and coconut oil
- Combine banana and flour mixture in a large bowl. Mix until you get a dough consistency
- Roll dough onto a flour dusted surface. Use hand to press out the dough mixture to 1/4 inch thick
- Use a dog bone cookie cutter to stamp out cookies
- Bake for 30-45 minutes
- 2 cups diced fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon course salt
- 6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
- Combine strawberries, lemon juice and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- Whisk flour, baking powder, salt and remaining sugar in a large bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry cutter
- Add in cream until dough starts to come together
- Stir in strawberry mixture
- Drop cookie balls on a greased baking sheet
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown
