9 Homemade Beauty Products

Today I shared all natural beauty product recipes on CBS 3 Talk Philly. Check out all the simple recipes below! Once you start using these homemade products you will never go back to store bought products! 

 

Powder Blush & Bronzer
Utilize Arrow Root Powder, Beet Root Powder, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Cocoa to Create The Perfect Shade. Start with little bits of each, add and mix until you get the desired color. 
Revitalizing Shower Bombs 
Ingredients/Materials
  • Silicon Molds
  • 1/2 Cup Corn Starch
  • 1/2 Cup Citric Acid
  • 1 Cup of Baking Powder
  • Lavender Essential oil
Directions:
  1. Mix together the baking soda, citric acid and corn starch in a large bowl
  2. Slowly add the essential oil  
  3. Splash with water as mixing until you have a sand like consistency 
  4. Fill molds half way full (mixture will rise)
  5. Let the molds harden for 1-2 hours. Carefully pop out molds
  6. Next time you shower toss one in the bottom of the shower and enjoy the calming sent

Grapefruit Tinted Lip Balm
Ingredients/Materials:
  • 2 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Beeswax
  • 1 Tablespoon Shea Butter 
  • 1/8 Teaspoon Beet Root Powder
  • Grapefruit Essential Oil
  • Chapstick Tubes
  • Eye Dropper 
Directions: 
  1. Melt coconut oil, beeswax, shea butter in a double boiler
  2. Slowly mix in a grapefruit essential oil
  3. Use an eye dropper to fill the chapstick tubes
  4. Let lip balm harden for 1-2 hours
  5. Decorate the tubes with washi tape

Dry Shampoo for Dark Hair: Mix 2-3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder (based on the color of your hair) with 2 tablespoons of arrowroot powder. Sprinkle on hair to absorb oil. 

Moisturizer
Ingredients: 
  • 1/2 Cup Shea Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Sweet Almond Oil
  • 10 Drops of Lavender Oil
  • 3-5 Drops Tea Tree Oil
Directions: 
  1. Melt the Shea Butter in a double boiler and add Sweet Almond oil
  2. Place mixture in a metal bowl and place in the freezer for 15-20 minutes
  3. Whip using a mixer for 1-2 minutes while adding essential oil
  4. Store in a sealed glass container
Coffee Face Scrub
Ingredients: 
  • 1/3 Cup Epson Salt
  • 1 Cup Coffee Grounds
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cup Olive Oil
Directions: 
  1. Mix all ingredients together and store in a sealed glass container
  2. Use once a week
