Engagement season is winding down as the parties are kicking off to celebrate all the happy bride and grooms-to-be. Engagement Parties are typically casual cocktail party celebrations hosted by friends or parents of the couple. Food is usually a second thought to the cocktail selection. Cocktails make the party more fun- right? Add a creative twist to any party with a DIY cocktail station that allows your guests to become a mixologist and craft their own custom cocktails. Check out this fun and easy station that will wow your guests! We are sharing three delicious cocktail recipes, and DIY flower charm for glassware.
Create simple signage on card stock with brush markers and put them frames. I always pick up frames at discount stores when they are on sale so I have extras on hand for party signage.
I picked up glasses for $1 each at my local dollar store and painted a heart on them with chalk paint. Once the chalk paint was dry I cured the glasses in the oven by putting them in the cold oven, heating it to 250 for 20 minutes, turning the oven off and not removing them until the oven is completely cooled. I put a chalk marker out for guests to write their name on their glass.
Add a fun accessory to glasses with flower charms. All you need is real flowers, floral tape, floral wire and scissors.
Cut the stems of your flowers to about 3 inches. Cut a 6 inch piece of wire. Wrap the wire around the base of the flower stem starting close the bulb of the flower until you get halfway down the stem. Wrap the floral tape around the stem and the entire length of the wire. Curl the end of the wire around the stem of the glass.
Create three craft cocktail recipes with three different liquors. Set up your station in three parts:
"Pick Your Poison" - Let your guests select their base alcohol. Create tags or recipe cards that the guest can grab and follow to craft their cocktail.
Bourbon Cocktail:
- 1 part J.R. Revelry Bourbon
- 2 parts fresh lemonade
- 8 Blueberries Muddled
- Simple syrup to taste (optional)
- Top with soda
- Garnish with blueberries
Vodka Cocktail:
- 1 part vodka
- Handful of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries muddled
- Splash of fresh lemonade
- Top with Soda
- Garnish with fresh mint
Tequila Cocktail:

"Add Mixers"
Have a display of all the mixers for all three cocktails. Let guests use the recipe card to add in the right mixers or they can get creative on their own.
"Garnish with Love"
Have fresh ingredients for your guests to put the final touches on their crafty cocktail!
A few touches to the station with flowers displayed in cones made of decorative paper and a colorful pendant banner.
Happy Partying!
