A big shout out to Hope our Production manager. She wanted to master making these permanent mug toppers and she sure did! She created these, filmed herself making them, and edited the video! I say it all the time she is our Craft Box Girls magical unicorn!
These mug toppers are such great decor and make perfect gifts year-round. Just don't eat them
Materials:
- DAP Fast N' Final Lightweight Spackling
- Acrylic Paint
- Glitter
- Beacon Foam-Tac
- Frosting Piping Bag & Tip
- Bowl (used for crafting)
- Brush
- Straw
- Candy Hearts or Decorative Accent
- Small Cake Stand (or some some that can easily be turned)
- Mug
- Styrofoam Ball
- Painter's Tape
- Scrap Cardboard
- Plastic Knfie
- Pencil
The amount of spackle needed is dependent on the size of your projects. Add paint until you get your desired color. Start with a small amount mix and add more!
Tip: Try different icing tips to get different icing finishes.
Have fun making these year round. Also you could use the same technique to create cupcakes, a whole cake or make faux Starbucks cups. You could make ornaments, gift toppers, keychains or add detail to an existing project!
The spackle dries very lightweight and is pretty durable!
