Give the gift of glowing skin this Christmas!
With the cold winter months now in full swing, this can really take it’s toll on your skin, so why not treat someone special with this gorgeous beauty DIY. This sweet smelling body scrub will gently exfoliate dry winter skin, leaving a soft and glowing appearance that smells divine.
You can treat yourself, or make this easy DIY as a gift for family and friends. The best part of DIY gifting is that it is a great way to save money, plus you can completely customise them to however you like. This body scrub is incredibly easy to make, plus you can feast on the leftover candy canes after!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (4.5oz) Granulated sugar
- ½ cup (3oz) Coconut oil
- 2 tsp. Almond oil
- 8-10 drops Peppermint essential oil
- 8-10 Peppermints or 4-5 Candy canes
Supplies:
- Coffee grinder or food processor
- Spoon
- Large mixing bowl
- Decorative jar or container
Directions:
Place the peppermints or broken candy canes in a coffee grinder or food processor. Pulverize until they are dust.
Now combine the sugar, almond oil, and peppermint dust in a large mixing bowl.
Add 8-10 drops of peppermint essential oil to the mix.
Stir well with a spoon to combine ingredients thoroughly.
To finish, transfer the peppermint sugar scrub into a decorative jar or container with a tight fitting lid and keep in a dry place.
Tip on how to use - Scoop out a generous amount of scrub and vigorously scrub onto wet skin in the bath or shower, rinse skin well and pat dry with a towel. Make sure to rinse the shower floor out well, as it can make it slippery.
To decorate the jar, I added a white pom-pom trim around the rim, then finished off the look with a wooden Christmas tag and spoon. Using pink, white and grey spray paint, I gave the wooden spoon and tag a touch of colour, which compliments the pale pink tone of the body scrub. Alternatively, you could use the classic red and white scheme for this DIY you prefer the traditional look.
This delicious gift is the perfect money saving idea this Christmas. Whether you make this for a friend or for yourself, it is so much fun to make and will leave your house smelling amazing.
Enjoy!
